The goal of public art for the Living Learning Center at the University of Oregon - Eugene was to connect the exterior spaces created by two new buildings on the campus which contain dormitories, classrooms, and student public spaces.
"Axes" is composed primarily of three spinning, earthcast and terrazzo discs which spatially link the exterior spaces as well as allow students to rotate the large sculptures and thereby change the dynamics of the space.
