The Clayton Center is an important mixed use public facility in downtown Clayton. It houses both the Town Hall, with its associated offices and Council Chambers, with a performing arts theater and public meeting spaces. The facility is housed in two separate historic schools that are now linked by new public gathering space that is used as the lobby of the theater, the entrance to the Town Hall and for independent programmed public gatherings. This 35,000 SF facility that was completed in 2002 has become the cornerstone in Clayton's revitalization of their downtown.
